We're in Locarno... finally.
After several days of temperatures in the mid- to hi-90's in Italy, we thought that Switzerland might be an opportunity for cooling off a bit. No such luck. It's very hot here as well.
The official festival begins tomorrow, on Thursday. Our schedule will be at a much more relaxing pace than in Berlin. We will only be judging the films in the official competition, of which there are eighteen. This works out to about two films per day.
Tonight is the opening film, “Brideshead Revisited,” which is not in the official competition. It will be shown outdoors in the Piazza Grande. I saw this as a BBC mini-series (which was wonderful) a few years ago and wonder why it's been remade now as a feature film.
