Prix Bresson

The Italian SIGNIS affiliate, Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo, annually awards the Prix Bresson to select filmmakers who have shown an adept portrayal of social issues in their art.

Monsignor Claudio Maria Celli presents the brothers Luc Dardenne and Jean-Pierre Dardenne with this year's Robert Bresson prize. "It is a great pleasure awarding the Bresson Prize 2011 to the Dardenne brothers, whose work has gone beyond the limits of cinema art. They have given an original moral perspective to the search for the absolute which is reflected in its most perceptible aspect: the human being."
